Bruno Cheyrou joins Le Mans as senior football adviser, Olivier Thomas takes coordinator role | OneFootball

Le Mans have appointed Bruno Cheyrou as senior football adviser, while Olivier Thomas moves up to coordinateur sportif as the club reshapes its sporting set-up.

L'Équipe reports that president Pedro Oliveira confirmed the changes on Tuesday morning at a breakfast with partner outlets Maine Libre, Ouest-France, Sweet FM and Ici Maine. He said Cheyrou will not act as sporting director for now due to other commitments, but has been recruited to help organise the department.

Cheyrou was PSG women’s sporting director from 2017 to 2020, then led recruitment at Olympique Lyonnais between 2020 and 2023. He also works as UEFA senior player development manager and as a Canal+ consultant.

Oliveira added that a football committee will be created, comprising himself, Aymeric Magne, head coach Patrick Videira, Cheyrou and Thomas.

Thomas, previously head of recruitment and at Le Mans for 10 years after playing for the club from 2003 to 2007, expands his remit as coordinateur sportif. He will work closely with Cheyrou, Videira, Magne and Oliveira.
