Bruno Fernandes hat-trick inspires Man Utd comeback against Ipswich | OneFootball

Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick as Manchester United produced a stirring comeback to beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford and claim their first Premier League win of the season.

Ipswich made the brighter start and took the lead when Leif Davis fired a superb half-volley after Abdul Fatawu’s excellent work down the wing. The visitors threatened again before United found a way back.

Marcelino Núñez’s slip allowed Matheus Cunha to break forward and tee up Fernandes, who drilled home to level.

United then turned the game around shortly after half-time when Harry Maguire’s effort took a decisive deflection off Jacob Greaves and found the net.

Greaves endured a difficult afternoon and conceded a penalty moments later by bringing down Cunha inside the area. Fernandes confidently converted from the spot before completing his hat-trick after Kobbie Mainoo and Bryan Mbeumo had efforts blocked.

Fernandes then turned provider, sending Mbeumo through to make it 5-1, with the ball crossing the line after hitting the bar.

Chuba Akpom added a late consolation for Ipswich, but United comfortably held on for three points.
