Bruno Fernandes has set a Premier League single-season assists record with 21, surpassing Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

He had drawn level with Henry, from 2002-03, and De Bruyne, 2019-20, with his 20th assist on matchweek 37 against Nottingham Forest. He had been voted player of the season by his peers earlier on Sunday, according to L'Équipe.

The record-breaking pass arrived in the 34th minute of the final day at Brighton. His corner found Patrick Dorgu, and the Dane’s header hit the bar before crossing the line to put Manchester United ahead.

The former Sporting midfielder has also scored nine league goals this season in 35 appearances.

He is involved in 30 goals, and only Erling Haaland, with 35, has a higher tally in England this season.
