Bruno Genesio will be out of contract on 30 June after two seasons at Lille, and Marseille and Paris FC are considering him. The former Lyon and Rennes coach could have options if he chooses to return immediately.
« Tout est envisageable », the 59-year-old said, noting the strength of his two Lille campaigns, as reported by L’Equipe. An immediate Ligue 1 return or Saudi Arabia are among possibilities, but nothing is agreed. He also spent two years in China after leaving Lyon.
Lille have already moved on, appointing Davide Ancelotti, with president Olivier Létang addressing the press a few hours later and a week on from Genesio’s confirmed exit. He said the tenure brought fifth place, then a top-three finish and direct Champions League qualification, and he praised Genesio after a personally testing year.
L’Equipe added that OM, rebuilding after a poor season and several departures, are tracking him alongside Christophe Galtier. With president Stéphane Richard and sporting director Grégory Lorenzi now in place, the club will address the coach role, while Galtier remains under contract in Saudi Arabia.
The daily also said Genesio is on Paris FC’s shortlist if they part with Antoine Kombouaré. The club were satisfied and want to keep him, Antoine Arnault said on RMC last week. Kombouaré has cited squad plans and his health after postponing a knee operation. Genesio’s next step remains open.
