Bruno Guimarães set to join Arsenal in £75m move | OneFootball

Bruno Guimarães is set to leave Newcastle United for Arsenal.

According to The Athletic, the deal between the two clubs was finalised in the last few hours, with the Brazil international set to join the London club for a fee of around £75 million

The midfielder had previously made clear his intention to leave the Magpies at the beginning of July and quickly agreed personal terms with the Gunners. Even so, the agreement between the two clubs was only completed after lengthy negotiations.

It should also be noted that Lyon will receive a portion of the fee as the French side hold a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the profit of a future sale.

Mikel Arteta will soon welcome another option in midfield while Newcastle will have a gap to fill in that area, with Porto’s Victor Froholdt linked with the Toons in recent days.

Bruno Guimarães first arrived in England in 2021 after spending two and a half seasons at Lyon and he departs Newcastle with 195 appearances to his name, having scored 31 goals and provided 31 assists.
