Bryan Mbeumo will become a Manchester United player today.
This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed this morning that the first part of the Cameroonian’s medical was done yesterday.
United have finally got their man.
The negotiation with Brentford has been long and frustrating, with the Bees seemingly moving the goalposts twice following INEOS’ first offer.
That offer, of £45 million plus £10m in variables, was rejected, but there was an indication that £60 million would be accepted.
That was later raised to £62.5m, but when United offered a package worth that amount, it was rejected again, and £70 million was then demanded.
A long pause ensued before the Red Devils finally made an offer that the Londoners couldn’t refuse, of £65 million plus £6 million in bonuses.
Signing today
The news broke on Thursday that the deal had finally been struck and United wasted no time, bringing the 24 year old to their training complex at Carrington for the first part of his medical yesterday.
That appears to have gone without a hitch as Romano confirms that following the second part today, Mbeumo will finally sign on the dotted line.
“Bryan Mbeumo completes second part of medical at Man United today,” Romano wrote on X this morning.
“He’s expected at Carrington for media and formal contract signing until June 2030 plus option until 2031.”
This means Mbeumo will be a United player in time to travel with his new teammates on Tuesday for their pre-season tour of the United States.
