FC Barcelona are seemingly planning to significantly reinforce their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, with the club identifying the centre forward and centre back positions as top priorities.
In this regard, the Catalans have been linked with several players, including Fisnik Asllani and Luka Vuskovic. However, despite their presence on the club’s radar, neither of them is currently viewed as a first-choice target.
Instead, Barcelona are understood to be prioritising more established names, with Julian Alvarez and Alessandro Bastoni seen as the preferred options for these two key roles.
Still, Asllani and Vuskovic remain viable alternatives, particularly as the club continues to explore different market opportunities while also keeping an eye on long-term prospects.
It remains to be seen whether the Blaugranes would make a concrete move for either player in the coming months. For now, however, Mundo Deportivo reports that both players have decided to put any discussions about their future on hold until the end of the ongoing season.
Talking about his situation, Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani recently spoke after scoring in his team’s 2–1 defeat to Mainz. The 23-year-old Kosovan made it clear that his sole focus is on performing for his current team and not on the transfer speculation surrounding him:
“I can only influence what happens on the pitch. I try to keep performing and help the team, whether with goals, assists, or whatever is needed. Regardless of everything else, I give my all for the team. What happens off the pitch doesn’t concern me. Everyone talks and talks. As I’ve said, I can only influence what happens on the pitch. Last season, when I was still at Elversberg, it was the same. I just said: ‘Leave me alone, let me play football, let me enjoy it.’ And that’s exactly how I’m approaching this season as well. In the end, we’ll see what happens.”
Similarly, Croatian centre-back Luka Vuskovic, who is currently on loan at Hamburg from Tottenham, spoke to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung this weekend about his future. The 19-year-old remained non-committal and confirmed that he will return to Tottenham at the end of the season:
“In football, you never know. It could happen next year or in ten years. I don’t want to promise anything to anyone. After this season, I will be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030.”
Both players are currently focused on finishing the season strongly with their respective teams, without getting distracted by transfer speculation.
For now, it remains to be seen how the futures of Asllani and Vuskovic will pan out, and whether Barcelona would eventually make a move for them, either in the upcoming summer window or at a later stage.
