The standout performers from Matchday 31 are recognised in the Bundesliga Team of the Week, set up in a 4-5-1.
According to BuLi News, Janis Blaswich of Bayer Leverkusen excelled in goal, drafted in with Mark Flekken injured, and made eight saves in the derby win.
In defence, Ridle Baku scored RB Leipzig’s third against Union Berlin and impressed on the right. Ramy Bensebaini produced a goal, an assist and 12 duels won as Borussia Dortmund beat Freiburg 4-0. Albian Hajdari assisted and defended assuredly on the left of a back three for Hoffenheim. Max Finkgräfe, covering for captain David Raum at Leipzig, struck the opener and won every duel.
In midfield, Kaishu Sano shone for Mainz against Bayern with eight duels won and three key passes. Yan Diomande was a constant threat for Leipzig, registering an assist, four key passes and six dribbles. Off the bench for Bayern, Michael Olise helped turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 win over Mainz with a superb goal. Jamal Musiala also came on, scored, completed three dribbles and recorded 100% passing.
From wing-back, Maximilian Beier scored Dortmund’s opener, added two key passes and completed two dribbles. Up front, Patrik Schick hit both goals in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 win over 1. FC Köln.
