Amir Abdou officially took charge on March 5 as head coach of the Stallions. The unveiling ceremony brought together top officials of the Burkinabé Football Federation, led by President Oumar Sawadogo, who laid out the major challenges the Comorian-French coach must tackle.

That is the demand set by President Oumar Sawadogo.Here are the five key challenges awaiting Amir Abdou at the helm of the Stallions:

Qualify Burkina Faso for the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time ever;
Secure a spot for the Stallions at the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya;
Lead the squad as far as possible (the president left the ambition open-ended) in the next Africa Cup of Nations;
Elevate the national team into the top 10 of the African rankings;
Rebuild the side by integrating young talents, with special focus on dual-nationality players.
