FLW’s Burnley fan pundit has commented on the future of forward Zian Flemming.
Burnley will soon be preparing for life back in the Championship as their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed last week.
A 1-0 defeat to title-chasing Manchester City confirmed the Clarets’ place back in the second tier alongside Wolves, meaning it’s a second consecutive immediate relegation from the big time.
Questions will be raised whether Scott Parker remains the right man to lead the Lancashire outfit forward after failing to secure survival, with his future believed to be hanging in the balance.
Burnley currently have four games remaining in their Premier League campaign before putting plans in place for a 2026-27 campaign in the Championship, so the task will be to keep a squad together that is good enough to sustain another promotion push.
Of course, as comes with relegation from the Premier League, some first-team figures won’t be too keen on remaining at Turf Moor and helping the Clarets turn the tide, with some feeling they may have warranted a place back in the top-flight with another team from their displays.
One player who could get that wish is forward Zian Flemming, who has had an impressive personal season when leading the line.
The former Millwall frontman has netted nine times in the top-flight so far this season, a more than respectable tally given he’s been in a side that has lacked so much attacking flair and creativity.
A player who similarly went on to secure a big move away from a relegated side was Liam Delap at Ipswich Town, linking up with Chelsea the previous summer after netting 12 times for the Tractor Boys as they suffered relegation down to the second tier in the 2024-25 term.
So with this in mind, FLW’s Burnley fan pundit has commented on whether the Clarets should be worried about top-flight clubs from England and across Europe swooping in to secure Flemming’s signature.

Speaking to Football League World, Burnley fan pundit Josh Lucas believes the Clarets should demand a fee of between £15m-£25m for forward Zian Flemming, particularly after he’s done so well to close in on double figures for a poor Premier League side.
Josh told FLW: “Yeah, Zian (Flemming) is a big worry, particularly as he has got nine goals in a team that hasn’t scored many goals at all and has very little in terms of attacking threat.
“Don’t get me wrong Zian is probably a number 10, but he’s worked so well as the number nine this year, and if you can get 10 goals in your debut Premier League season, then you’re clearly a good striker.
“I can see a Fulham, if (Raul) Jimenez goes, or possibly a (Crystal) Palace, someone like that, so yeah, he’s really one to keep an eye on, and I can imagine many Burnley fans will be worried about it.
“For me, we need to be looking for at least £15 million to £25 million really.
“He did only score nine goals so we can’t be asking for £30 million plus, so £15 million to £25 million is probably a fair deal.”

In what has been a miserable season for all connected with Burnley, Zian Flemming is one of few that can come out of it with his head held high.
To score nine goals in his first ever Premier League campaign and in a Clarets side that has struggled to create in the final third all season is a brilliant feat, and he definitely has earned the chance to see whether the goals can continue to flow in a much better top-flight outfit.
There is bound to be plenty of interest in the Dutchman following his exploits, while the 27-year-old won’t be too keen to be back playing Championship football after proving he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
The positive for Burnley is that any sale should see them make a profit on the original £7m fee they spent on him, with those additional funds so important for their summer transfer window as they look to build a squad good enough to get immediately back to the big time once again.
While it will be a big blow for the Clarets to lose Flemming, he is deserving of such an opportunity, with the aim now to ensure this wasn’t a one-off season on the goalscoring front.
