The Clarets had an incredible last season in the Championship, which saw them rack up an impressive 100 points, built on a rock-solid defence.

Burnley are the second-worst defensive team in the Premier League this term, as they are in a deep relegation battle, sitting 19th in the table.

They are trying to do some important transfer business in the winter window, as they have mostly concentrated on offloading fringe stars.

The likes of Manuel Benson, Oliver Sonne, Michael Obafemi, Luca Koleosho and Hannes Delcroix have already left the club, either on permanent or loan deals.

Versatile Belgian attacker Tresor has also been linked with a move away before the window shuts down later today, with clubs keen on him.

Ligue 1 strugglers AJ Auxerre have been keen on the ex-Genk star, who barely plays for the English club.

However, he could end up staying until the end of the season at least, as Tresor’s potential move is now ‘getting complicated’, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

It is not clear what is hindering the transfer talks, with only a few hours left before the winter window shuts down.

The Lembeek-born attacking talent started his senior career at NEC Nijmegen and impressed at Genk in his three-year spell.

After an initial loan spell at Turf Moor, the Clarets paid a hefty fee of around £16m for the attacker, but the move has been a disastrous one.

Tresor has played only 26 games for the Premier League strugglers and is looking to see a move away from the club in the coming hours.

Last summer, Espanyol were keen on a loan swoop for the ex-Belgium international, who will hope to see a move go through before time runs out.
