Burnley striker Armando Broja has attracted interest from Serie A side Cagliari

Burnley have key decisions to make in the transfer market following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

The Clarets are also currently managerless, while Wales boss Craig Bellamy is firmly in the frame to become Scott Parker's permanent successor.

Bellamy has done a largely solid job in charge of Wales, although they failed to qualify for this summer's World Cup, thanks to a play-off defeat to Bosnia.

Meanwhile, Burnley are looking to match their 2022/23 and 2024/25 feats, when they secured an immediate Premier League return following relegation to the Championship.

The Clarets attempted to build a squad that could achieve Premier League survival last summer, but they fell short of that goal, finishing just 19th in the top flight.

One of the players the Lancashire outfit acquired ahead of last season was striker Armando Broja, who formerly played for Chelsea, and showed promise during a previous loan spell with Southampton.

As per BBC Sport, that deal was worth up to £20million, but the striker scored just one goal in 24 Premier League appearances, contributing to Burnley's poor campaign.

Now, according to Sky Sports, Broja has been eyed by Serie A club Cagliari, who finished 14th in the Italian top-flight last season.

Football League World asked our Burnley fan pundit, Aaron Wright, if the Albania international would be worth keeping in the Championship, especially if big interest comes for Zian Flemming, or if it would be best if the Clarets let Broja go for the right price.

Wright told FLW: "Go for it, just go. Didn't work, and I think the best thing for him is just to leave England. It's not even a shot at him. Cagliari, just go.

"This isn't me hating on him. But if we get anywhere near £15m somehow, I'd take it. I'd test Leeds for someone like Joel Piroe. I guess the popular thing is to say go for (Zan) Vipotnik.

"But I have no idea if he'd actually be leaving them (Swansea)."

Burnley should push for new-look forward line ahead of next season

Burnley have plenty of work to do ahead of next season, and must appoint a new manager as soon as possible, with Championship fixture release day arriving this week.

Meanwhile, the Clarets' attack was poor last term, scoring just 38 goals in their 38 Premier League fixtures.

Flemming was an outstanding performer in that regard, though, notching 11 goals in 29 top-flight appearances, as the former Millwall man proved he can produce the goods in the Premier League.

However, following those exploits, Burnley will surely struggle to retain the 27-year-old, who has proven that he is too good for the Championship.

Meanwhile, as Wright alluded to, it is surely best for all parties if the Turf Moor club part company with Broja, especially if they can recoup a large sum of his £20m transfer fee.

Fellow Clarets forward Lyle Foster has also been goal-shy in both the Premier League and the Championship, and found the target just three times in the top flight last term.

Therefore, Burnley would be well-served by having a new-look forward line next season, as they vie to win promotion from the second tier at the first time of asking.

As also mentioned, somebody like Piroe could represent a real statement signing for Burnley's promotion ambitions next time out.

The Leeds forward boasts impressive pedigree at this level over multiple seasons with both the Whites and previously Swansea, and while his future at Elland Road remains in severe doubt amid a struggle for minutes and links with a host of second-tier sides in recent times, the Clarets would be well-served by getting him out of Elland Road and back to a familiar level where he can thrive.
