“It's good for the team to be back in a regular training rhythm,” said head coach Markus Högner before the game, noting his squad's dominant performance against SSV Rhade. The BVB women, led by captain Paula Reimann, secured a convincing 7-0 win against the second-to-last of the table, SSV Rhade. Compared to their dominant home win against Mecklenbeck, the BVB women only changed one position in the starting XI. Instead of Jasmin Jabbes, it was now Annika Enderle who started – both had scored a goal in the previous week.

Immediately after kick-off, the BVB women shifted the game onto the hosts' half of the pitch. Cheers followed in the fourth minute when Dana Marquardt opened the score, but celebrations were dampened straight away because of offside. This meant that the BVB women's daring attacking play at Sportpark Risthaus would not be interrupted. Following a foul on Frederike Kempe, who very cleverly shielded the ball in the opponent's penalty area, Marquardt confidently scored from the penalty spot (23.) giving the team a well-deserved 1-0 lead.

The Black and Yellows had to demonstrate great willingness to run in order to repeatedly create space against a deep-positioned opponent. This happened in the 32 minute, when Dana Marquardt, after a long sprint, was able to head in the 2-0 in the near corner – her 13th goal in nine matches this season. With deep balls behind the backline, the Borussinen repeatedly appeared dangerously close to their opponent's goal. Rita Schumacher, for example, managed to lift the ball over goalkeeper Radüchel in a breathtaking finish after a very accurate pass from Kempe, making it 3-0 at halftime.

Immediately after the break, Ann-Sophie Vogel, coming from the left, decisively scored from a tight angle, thus giving BVB a 4-0 lead (50.). The host team were quite daring, so a fast-paced game developed from both sides. With a direct free-kick from a little less than 20 metres, Rita Schumacher increased her tally to ten goals (58.) this season so far, and a 5-0 lead for the Black and Yellows. After a triple substitution, Jasmin Jabbes played the ball to Paula Reimann on the edge of the penalty area. The captain fired a shot and saw the ball going into the goal just past the inside post and into the left corner 6-0 (71.). A mere four minutes later, Annika Enderle scored the 7-0 for BVB (75.) which was also the final score.

With their decisive away win, the BVB women jump to second place of the league table, with 19 points. The U21 from 1. FC Köln (22 points) and Bayer Leverkusen (19 points) both played a draw this weekend. This means that the gap with the league leaders from Cologne is now three points.
