Could they be too late for this transfer? Dortmund are reportedly making a last-ditch attempt to sign Club Brugge's and the Belgian Pro League's most valuable player, Ardon Jashari.
The Swiss international's market value soared to €32 million, making him the most valuable player in Belgian Pro League history, according to Transfermarkt - his value jumping from €25 million, cementing his status after a standout season with Club Brugge.
In recent days, AC Milan have tabled bids in the region of €30 million to €32 million, combining fixed fees and performance bonuses. Club Brugge, however, remain firm in seeking a €35 million base price plus additional payments, pushing the total towards the coveted €40 million mark.
Dortmund have previously backed out of a deal because of those numbers - but with the sales of Moukoko and Gittens, they are seemingly interested to at least try and discuss a new deal for Jashari.
The 22-year-old has only arrived in Belgium a year ago, after completing a transfer from Swiss side FC Luzern to Club Brugge for €6 million. He managed to play 52 games for the Belgian side and was even involved in 10 goals (4 goals, 6 assists) from defensive midfield.
At Dortmund, Jashari would face fierce competition from Pascal Groß, Emre Can, Salih Özcan, Felix Nmecha and new signing Jobe Bellingham; but he has already proven to exceed expectations in Belgium - and he would definetly fit into a new profile in Dortmund, due to him being left-footed.
