Sevilla’s academy has become a battleground, with efforts to lock down emerging talent as neighbours circle. Cádiz have emerged as suitors for two reserves who could depart for nothing next season.
Calm returned on one front with Nico Guillén committing long term. The Huelva-born midfielder signed on 30 January, his 18th birthday, extending with Sevilla until June 2029. His rise spans Sevilla Atlético and pre-season under Matías Almeyda, where he scored against Birmingham City.
The Alexis Ciria case cut the other way, the striker joining Real Madrid Castilla after rejecting a major renewal offer. Canal Sur reports that Sevilla could receive 3 million euros if he debuts for Madrid’s first team.
Cádiz are weighing moves from Sevilla’s reserve ranks for next season. El Territorio Cadista indicates they had pursued Manu Bueno before, and his deal expires on 30 June with a renewal now unlikely after limited first team minutes. The 21-year-old, scorer of the last goal Jesús Navas witnessed as a professional, is open to a fresh start.
Isra Domínguez faces a similar scenario, shaped by Sevilla Atlético’s collective form. He could leave automatically for free if the B team are relegated, and Cádiz are looking to move early to secure him without a fee.
Losing both would be another setback for Sevilla’s pathway. Securing Guillén has been essential, yet preventing further departures while balancing finances remains a pressing summer task.
