It is no secret that the Spanish Rugby Federation is keen on Spain hosting the 2035 Rugby World Cup. And in its bid to do so, the federation is looking to utilise many of the country’s exotic football venues.
Spain will compete primarily with Italy to host the 2035 Rugby World Cup, and if reports are to be believed, the federation is in talks with La Liga, seeking permission to use some of the iconic stadiums.
According to The Guardian (h/t Mundo Deportivo), one of the stadiums which could emerge as a potential location for the 2035 Rugby World Cup is the iconic Camp Nou.

While the project is still under construction, the Camp Nou will be in the peak of its powers in 2035. And therefore, it could prove to be an attractive location for the Rugby World Cup.
Apart from Camp Nou, other stadiums in contention to host the prestigious tournament in 2035 include Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu and Athletic Club’s San Mames.
That said, all of this is subject of not only the Rugby Federation gaining approval from La Liga but also Spain actually winning the bid to host the tournament in 2035.
For now, the upcoming two Rugby World Cups in 2027 and 2031 are scheduled to be held in Australia and United States respectively.
Spain or Italy hosting the 2035 edition, therefore, would mark the tournament’s return to Europe, whereas Japan appears to be the favourite to host the 2039 edition.
