France became first team to make it to the World Cup 2026 semi-finals after they strolled to a 2-0 triumph over Morocco on Thursday.

The African giants were expected to pose the toughest test for the 2018 champions, but it turned out to be a rather comfortable victory for them after goals from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

France are now clearly the overwhelming favourite to lift the golden trophy on July 19.

Their attacking firepower is terrifying, while their defence is rock solid.

Didier Deschamps’ side cruised through the group stage, beating Senegal, Iraq and Norway without breaking a sweat.

Sweden were then put to the sword in the round of 32, with Mbappe wreaking havoc on their defenders.

Now the question on everyone’s mind is whether any team can stop France’s relentless march to the World Cup trophy.

Argentina, Spain, and England are the other top favourites, but none of their defences look strong enough to hold up against the frightening attack of France

Teams not only will have to contend with Mbappe but the collective might of the Real Madrid star, Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue.

Paraguay showed this can be achieved in the round of 16, as they frustrated France for over an hour before Mbappe delivered the decisive breakthrough from the spot.

However, Paraguay’s display was equally defined by their use of football’s dark arts to disrupt the opposition’s rhythm.

Confidence will be sky-high in France’s camp, as they prepare to meet either Spain or Belgium in the World Cup semi-final.

The Euro 2024 winners have massively improved in the tournament since suffering a shock 0-0 draw against Cape Verde in their opening game.

They haven’t conceded a single goal in their five games and are expected to prevail over Belgium on Friday.
