The Reds saw out the result to secure the top of the group with a 3-0-0 record, and advance to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026. The Canadian defense also collected its third consecutive shutout to finish its campaign with zero goals conceded.

El Salvador finished second place in Group A with a 1-1-1 record.

Post– Match Data

Canada delivered another commanding performance with a 5-0 victory over El Salvador, a result that confirmed its undisputed leadership in the group and capped a historic campaign in the Final Round of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers. The Canadians not only finished with a perfect record, but did so without conceding a single goal, reinforcing their status as one of the tournament’s premier teams.

For El Salvador, the result marked its 10th defeat in 20 matches played in tournament history and the third time the team has conceded five goals in a single match. The previous instances came in a 5-1 loss to Trinidad and Tobago on July 18, 2008, and a 5-3 defeat against Haiti on February 3, 2024.

Despite the setback, Las Cuscatlecas closed their campaign with a competitive showing that secured them second place in the group, finishing with a record of GP-3 W-1 D-1 L-1, GF-5 GA-6, 4 points. Offensively, Emma Gabrielle Torres, Melanie Nicole Menjívar, Angie Valentina Alvarenga, Arianna Brielle Jones, and Kaylen Sophía Álvarez each contributed one goal during the tournament.

On the Canadian side, the victory sealed a flawless group stage. Canada concluded as group leader, posting a record of GP-3 W-3 D-0 L-0, GF-17 GA-0, 9 points, a display of balance between attacking efficiency and defensive solidity. Lacey Maglio Kindel and Gabriela Istocki, both with four goals, led the team’s scoring chart, while Racquel Partovi and Isabella Lanzillotta, with three assists each, stood out as the primary playmakers.

In the match, Reed Mary Olivia Tingley celebrated a milestone moment by scoring her first two goals in the competition. Meanwhile, Lacey Maglio Kindel reached her fifth career goal in tournament history — one in the 2025 edition and four in 2026 — while Gabriela Istocki moved to four goals in the current campaign. Mélyna Alexis also opened her scoring account in the tournament, adding another name to Canada’s list of attacking contributors.

The win represented Canada’s seventh consecutive victory in the competition, establishing the longest winning streak in tournament history. It was also the 13th straight victory for Canada against Central American opposition and the fourth consecutive clean sheet against teams from the region.

Canada’s performance produced two unprecedented milestones: for the first time in tournament history, the team completed a Final Round edition without conceding a goal, and also achieved back-to-back perfect group stage campaigns, winning all matches in 2025 (3 of 3) and 2026 (3 of 3) — a testament to the consistency and continued growth of Canada’s women’s youth program.
