Cape Verde qualified for the World Cup knockouts with a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia, becoming the first team to advance from the group stage on debut since Slovakia in 2010.
According to BuLi News, 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha kept another clean sheet as the Blue Sharks had the better chances. Despite a winless campaign, they finished second in Group H after three draws.
Inaugural champions Uruguay went out after a 1-0 defeat to Spain, with 39-year-old Fernando Muslera substituted at half-time following a howler that allowed Álex Baena to score the only goal.
Spain finished top of the group and will face the runner-up from Group J in the Round of 32.
Cape Verde will meet holders Argentina in their first knockout tie. Uruguay were the first third-placed side to be eliminated, ending with two points.
