Cape Verde reached the World Cup knockout stage with a goalless draw against Saudi Arabia.
As reported by BuLi News, the Blue Sharks are the first debutants to progress since Slovakia in 2010. Goalkeeper Vozinha, 40, kept another clean sheet and his side created the clearer openings.
Despite not winning a game, they finished second in Group H behind Spain after three draws.
Inaugural champions Uruguay went out after losing to Spain. The 39-year-old Fernando Muslera was withdrawn at half-time following a mistake that allowed Álex Baena to score the only goal.
Spain will face the runner-up from Group J in the Round of 32. Cape Verde will meet holders Argentina. Uruguay were the first third-placed team eliminated, ending with two points.
