Carabao Cup second round draw in full: Chelsea to face Luton as Tottenham get home tie

West Ham and Brentford handed tough away trips as Fulham take on AFC Wimbledon in London derby

Chelsea will face Luton Town, while Tottenham take on Charlton in the Carabao Cup second round.

Both Chelsea and Spurs have entered the domestic cup competition earlier than usual due to not having any European commitments after finishing tenth and 17th in the Premier League last season.

And they have been paired at home to lower league opposition, meaning they will be hoping to avoid a major cup upset as the second round of the competition takes place the week commencing August 24.

Elsewhere, West Ham - who were relegated from the Premier League last season - now know their reward for beating Portsmouth in round one is an all-Championship meeting with Southampton at St Mary’s.

The other London derby sees Fulham host AFC Wimbledon at Craven Cottage, while one of the standout ties is from the Northern section with Nottingham Forest facing Leeds United at the City Ground.

The remaining Premier League teams competing in Europe this season, including holders Manchester City and last year’s beaten finalists Arsenal, will then enter in the third round.
