Angers have extended Haitian right-back Carlens Arcus’s contract by one year, keeping him at the club until 2027. The club said in a statement on Wednesday that the 29-year-old has committed fresh terms.
Arcus joined from Vitesse Arnhem in summer 2024 and has made 27 appearances this season. He was a regular starter before an adductor injury sidelined him for several games late in the campaign.
Angers secured Ligue 1 safety with a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg on Sunday and have moved quickly on next season’s squad planning. The club have also seen Pierrick Capelle and Abdoulaye Bamba retire.
Arcus previously spent five seasons at AJ Auxerre from 2017 to 2022.
A Haiti international with 51 caps and one goal, he should feature at the 2026 World Cup. Haiti are returning to the tournament 52 years after their 1974 debut.
In Group C they face Scotland on 14 June at 3:00, Brazil on 20 June at 2:30 and Morocco on 25 June at midnight.
