Carlo Ancelotti ‘to watch’ Flamengo v Vasco as he assesses Pedro | OneFootball

O Globo reports that Carlo Ancelotti will be at the Maracanã on Sunday for Flamengo v Vasco in the Brasileirão, with a particular eye on Pedro.

The Brazil head coach is assessing centre-forward options for the World Cup squad. Kick-off is 16:00 Brasília time.

Pedro was not called up in 2024 under Dorival Júnior for World Cup qualifiers. He has since remained out of subsequent lists and has not yet been picked by Ancelotti.

Speaking in late 2025, Ancelotti said Brazil were looking for a striker of Pedro’s profile and noted the forward had been injured. He added that Pedro could have featured then or in a later call-up, including March, if fit.

Pedro is in strong form for Flamengo this season with 15 goals in 25 appearances, plus four assists. He has already matched his 2025 goal tally in 14 fewer games.

The CBF will reveal the final World Cup squad on 18 May at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro.
