Carlos Espí has become Levante’s focal point in LaLiga, a 20-year-old academy striker with four goals in his last three games. According to Superdeporte, the 1.94 m forward, developed in Buñol, is leading the line under Luís Castro.

He debuted on 18 February 2024 against Racing de Ferrol in the Segunda, then rose from impact sub to starter. His deal has automatically extended to 2028. A classic target man, he is strong in duels, aerially dominant and ruthless in the box.

In the last three matches he has struck four times, a double against Alavés and one each versus Girona and Rayo Vallecano. All of Levante’s goals in that spell were his, including two late winners at the Ciutat de València against Alavés.

Service has improved, with Víctor García delivering against Girona and Rayo, and Iker Losada supplying at Rayo, for the Under-20 international. Etta Eyong’s drought has opened the door, though Levante still need his best and he could yet partner Espí.

Despite scarce minutes earlier on, he ranks 20th for LaLiga minutes with 484 yet has five goals in 15 league games. In all competitions he has 17 appearances, four starts and seven goals, a strike every 83 minutes.

Under Luís Castro he has played 10 of 12, 392 minutes and five goals, compared with six of 13, 168 minutes and two goals under Julián Calero. He has made his case to stay in the starting 11 as Levante fight to remain in the top flight.
