Talleres de Córdoba have confirmed Carlos Tevez will not continue as head coach once his current deal expires, bringing his year-long tenure to a close.

The club said in a statement that the contract would not be extended for Tevez and his staff, offering thanks for their work and praising Tevez’s character, commitment, stature, personality and work ethic, adding that Córdoba and Talleres would always be his home.

The decision follows elimination in the Torneo Apertura round of 16 against Belgrano in the Córdoba derby. Tevez arrived in Barrio Jardín in July 2025 amid a difficult sporting scenario. Under his watch, the team recovered from a poor first half of the year and achieved the survival target set for the end of last season.

In the recently completed Apertura, his side collected 26 points, leaving Talleres well positioned in the annual table to fight for a return to international competition at the end of the 2026 season. However, the strain after the derby defeat helped tip the balance against renewal.

With the fixture list ongoing, the board led by Andrés Fassi have begun searching for a successor. In the meantime, the Institutional Coaching Staff headed by Rodrigo Acosta and Ezequiel Carboni will oversee training on an interim basis.

The immediate priority is preparation for the Copa Argentina round of 32, with the AFA yet to confirm the date for the tie against Atlético Tucumán.
