Casamichana ‘could join’ Terzic’s Athletic staff as Prieto replacement | OneFootball

David Casamichana is being considered to join Terzic’s new backroom staff at Athletic as a replacement for Luis Prieto, according to AS.

The recognised sports scientist served as Real Sociedad’s lead fitness coach from 2018 to January 2026, working under Imanol Aguacil and Sergio Francisco.

Athletic’s new staff will also include Óscar de Marcos as a link with the dressing room. The set-up could be complemented by another physical-performance specialist from Germany.

Real Sociedad restructured their first-team staff in January 2026 under Pellegrino Matarazzo. Casamichana and assistant Felipe Sánchez left their roles, with Oier Agirrezabalaga replacing Casamichana as fitness coach.

Casamichana arrived at Zubieta in the summer of 2018 and oversaw the first-team physical programme for eight seasons.
