Manchester United recorded their third consecutive Premier League victory of the season, beating Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United created the game’s first chance as captain Bruno Fernandes rose to meet a cross, which he headed wide.

Brighton created three consecutive chances at the other end, but they failed to get any on target.

Matheus Cunha broke the deadlock for Man United in the 24th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the area.

According to OptaJoe, Cunha has now scored seven goals from outside the penalty area since the start of last season – more than any other Premier League player across all competitions.

Casemiro doubled Man United’s lead with a strike from outside the box, which was deflected into the net.

His effort marked the first time United have had two different Brazilian goalscorers in a league game.

Sesko came close to adding to United’s tally before half-time, narrowly missing the target from inside the area.

Bryan Mbeumo made it 3-0 just after the hour mark with a brilliant finish following a pass from Sesko.

Danny Welbeck pulled one back for Brighton with a brilliant free-kick in the 74th minute.

They scored again in stoppage time, as Charalampos Kostoulas rose to head James Miner’s corner-kick into the net.

However, Mbeumo dashed their hopes of staging a comeback, sealing victory for Man United with a brilliant finish.

United have now won three consecutive league games for the first time under manager Ruben Amorim and recorded their first victory over Brighton in three games.
