Castellón B to stay in Segunda Federación after filling Tarazona vacancy | OneFootball

CD Castellón B will compete in Segunda Federación in 2026/27 after the RFEF approved their entry to fill a vacant place, the club said on Monday 20 July.

The reserves had been relegated at the end of 2025/26 and were due to play in Tercera Federación, but an economically caused vacancy allowed them to seek readmission.

The opening arose in Group 2 after SD Tarazona left a spot. The federation activated the process set out in Circular 3 to cover an economically caused vacancy, fixing a deposit of €380,464.16. Castellón submitted their bid and paid the sum.

Sporting merit favoured Castellón B because they had just come down from the division. They and Real Madrid C both finished 13th in their groups, so league placing and points decided it. Castellón totalled 42 points to Madrid’s 40.

The RFEF initially awarded the place to Castellón B, then the procedure remained open while CD Toledo appealed. That challenge has been rejected, making the resolution final in sporting terms.
