Castellón sign Ismael Fadel after Óscar Gil joins Real Murcia | OneFootball

A day after confirming Óscar Gil’s transfer to Real Murcia, CD Castellón said in a statement that it has signed centre-back Ismael Fadel from Yeclano Deportivo.

Gil’s move is the club’s first outgoing of the winter window. The Navarrese defender spent the past three and a half seasons with the albinegros, was one of the captains, and made 90 appearances, scoring four goals, one in Segunda División.

In his farewell, Gil said it was the moment to say goodbye, described his spell as spectacular, expressed pride in experiencing the club from within, and added there will always be one more orellut.

Ismael Fadel Pagés, born in Zaragoza in March 2004, is a Moroccan defender raised in the city. He arrives from Yeclano Deportivo, the Murcia club competing in group IV of the Segunda Federación.

Fadel came through Real Zaragoza’s academy, reaching the top youth level, then had loan spells with SD Ejea. With the Aragonese side he won promotion to Segunda Federación, returning there on loan the following season.

He joined Yeclano last summer, emerged as leader of the back line and also featured in midfield. He has played 17 matches this season.
