Castellón edged a memorable meeting with Eibar. Cala led the charge and substitute Suero delivered the decisive touch.
El Periódico Mediterráneo’s ratings reflected a string of standout efforts across the pitch. Matthys, six, almost gifted a goal but recovered to make a late save from Hugo. Pablo Santiago earned eight for relentless work down the flank, and Alberto also scored eight for marshalling a brave back line.
Brignani was seven after some late discomfort against Bautista’s movement, while Sienra, seven, locked the left before Lucas A replaced him to add attacking thrust. Barri, seven, found clever pockets and stayed reliable despite tiring.
Gerenabarrena took eight, again winning over the crowd with attitude, energy and generosity. Camara was seven, all endeavour as he chased and sought a goal.
In attack, Cala was nine, decisive when it mattered, scoring the 1-0 and then assisting the 2-1. Jakobsen, seven, linked play well and a superb save denied him a stunner, though his clearance error came before the 1-1.
From the bench, Suero rated eight, a lethal impact who came on and won it with a tidy finish. Lucas A was seven, intense and assured defending the box late on. Raúl Sánchez, six, went close and should be a play-off signing, while Doué, six, offered fresh legs.
