Castellón’s promotion dream has been pinned to a three-word slogan, “¿Y si sí?”, a question that has turned belief into mobilisation as a play-off run begins.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the team surged through the second half of the season, from no win until matchday six to the summit. They entered the top 6 on matchday 15 and never left.
The fanbase responded as it does when something big is at stake, with welcomes, noise and pre‑kick‑off chants. This was not about hype, it was about conviction that Castellón had a right to believe, and they kept competing despite setbacks, bigger budgets and awkward refereeing.
The phrase works because it mirrors the city’s mood. It promises nothing yet suggests everything, an invitation to picture a return to Primera División, dormant since 1991, and to face the play-offs without inhibitions. It distils a season-long journey from caution to exuberance.
With a play-off place secured, the motto is now a way of living it. The team have done their part on the pitch and the supporters theirs in the stands, and SkyFi Castalia is again a stage for big nights. Before Castellón-Eibar, David Cubillas summed up the mood, saying the normal outcome would be no, but what if yes, and adding that he hoped so.
The SkyFi Castalia averaged 11,916 spectators per game, roughly 1,000 up on last season, the one that marked their return to professional football. That is around 9.1 per cent growth, with the venue on Avenida Benicàssim filled above 82 per cent.
