CD Castellón’s pre-season is taking shape, with five friendlies set and two more planned, split between Ciudad Deportiva Globeenergy and a camp in Olot. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the programme mirrors last summer’s blend of training and a Girona camp.
The opener is on Saturday 18 July against CE Sabadell at Ciudad Deportiva Globeenergy, time to be confirmed. The match is planned to be behind closed doors, and Sabadell have just been promoted to Segunda División after defeating Zamora in the final play-off.
An additional friendly is slated for Wednesday 22 July, with opponent and venue still to be decided.
Pablo Hernández’s side then visit the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna to face top-flight Valencia on Saturday 25 July, time to be set.
On Wednesday 29 July, Castellón play Girona at the Catalan club’s training ground, with Girona newly relegated to Segunda División. The squad will be based in Olot during those dates.
Two days later, on Friday 31 July, they meet Deportivo Alavés at the Campo Municipal de Olot, repeating last summer’s fixture as part of the Olot camp.
As usual on the final weekend before the league begins, two friendlies are planned on consecutive days. The first is on Friday 7 August, opponent and venue to be confirmed, followed by top-flight Levante at Ciudad Deportiva Globeenergy on Saturday 8 August.
Castellón will learn next season’s fixture list on 30 June, with the league due to start on the weekend of 15 August.
