CD Castellón mark La Coma debut with 2-0 win over Sabadell | OneFootball

CD Castellón opened their first-team era at Ciudad Deportiva La Coma with a 2-0 victory over Sabadell, the club’s first win at the new complex.

Álvaro García struck the 1-0 and became the first senior player to score in a friendly at the venue. El Periódico Mediterráneo notes that this is Pablo Hernández’s first pre-season in charge after the club backed his continuation at SkyFi Castalia.

Hernández took over last September and steadied a difficult start, which had included no wins in the first five league games.

After a rest day on Sunday, the squad will return to training tomorrow at La Coma. The session arrives exactly one week after pre-season began last Monday.

Castellón now turn to their second warm-up, visiting Valencia CF’s training complex to face the hosts on Saturday 25 July at 20.00.
