CD Castellón start 2026/27 pre-season with medicals as Hamza Bellari outlines aims | OneFootball

CD Castellón opened their 2026/27 pre-season on Wednesday with medical checks in the city. Testing continues on Thursday, with the first training session scheduled for Monday 13 July.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the day marked a reunion after the summer break as the squad looked to carry forward last season’s positive momentum.

Among those at the medical centre in the morning were Raúl Sánchez, Romain Matthys, Álvaro García, Jéremy Mellot, Tincho Conde, Lucas Alcázar, Diego Barri, Ousmane Camara and the latest signing, Hamza Bellari.

Alcázar, entering his second season at the club, said he aims to maintain last year’s level and expects the side to look similarly strong. On the influx of early signings, he felt added competition is healthy and believes the newcomers will help.

Barri shared a hope of matching the previous campaign’s success but urged caution, noting the season is long. He stressed the need to start working well, adding that everything resets and repeating such a high level will be difficult.

Bellari, announced on Tuesday, expressed excitement about the move. He set himself the target of improving his numbers and bringing out his best version, and is confident he can achieve that with this team.
