CD Onda, coached by Fernando García and competing in the Grup Nord de la Lliga Comunitat, the sixth tier, have reached the V La Nostra Copa final, which grants the winners a Copa del Rey place next season. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, they progressed after defeating Paterna in the semi-finals.
A 3-1 first leg at the Enrique Saura ground proved decisive, with Jorge Mallol scoring twice and Hugo Algaba striking in the 93rd minute.
In the return, Onda lost 1-0, Iván Cordero netting on 60 minutes, but they held on to reach the showpiece.
Onda await the winners of the Tavernes de la Valldigna versus Novelda tie, to be decided on Wednesday 15 this month. The final will be a single match at a neutral venue between 1 and 3 May, with the host stadium still to be confirmed.
The champions will enter the 2026/27 Copa del Rey representing the FFCV, as Manises did this year after winning the fourth edition. The winners will also receive a significant financial prize from the RFEF.
Onda will be the third team from the province to contest a La Nostra Copa final. L’Alcora won the first edition in 2022 by beating Benetúser 1-0, goal by José Clemente, and in 2023 Soneja defeated Buñol 1-0 but, as league champions promoted to Tercera, missed out on a Copa del Rey place.
