Celta Vigo have a massive few weeks ahead of them, with matches against Rayo Vallecano set to test their La Liga ambitions as well as a tough test as they head to the Bernabéu to take on Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.
Things have just gotten even more difficult for the side from Galicia, as the club have shared news of an injury to their captain, Iago Aspas.
Aspas has been a key member of Claudio Giráldez’s squad so far this season, just as he has been for the entirety of the 10-season duration of his second spell at the club.
With six goals and three assists so far this season, the 37-year-old is the club’s best source of attacking output, so they may struggle quite a bit while he is stuck on the sidelines over the next month.
The injury consists of a muscle tear in his left leg, and could see the veteran striker miss between three and four weeks of action as he recovers.
Celta Vigo fans will be hoping that someone else in their squad will be able to step up and fill the void left by Aspas’ absence over the next month while their legendary captain recovers.
