Celtic considering Gineitis if Engels goes to Roma, Torino chasing Gill | OneFootball

There are reports Celtic would turn to Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis if selling Arne Engels, who is wanted by Roma, while San Lorenzo raise the asking price for Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill.

The Granata need sales to raise funds and a significant profit could be achieved by Gineitis, who joined their youth academy from SPAL in January 2022.

According to La Stampa and Tuttomercatoweb, Celtic have set their sights on the Lithuania international as a potential heir to Engels.

The 22-year-old is under contract with Torino until June 2029, with an option to extend for another year, and made 80 competitive appearances for the club with three goals and as many assists.

Engels is known to be a transfer target for Roma, so this could be a midfield merry-go-round within Serie A.

It’s reported that Toro hope to get €15m from the sale of Gineitis.

Meanwhile, the Granata also continue their pursuit of impressive Paraguay international goalkeeper Gill, who has been remarkable at the 2026 World Cup.

Sky Sport Italia claim that his asking price has soared to over €6m and San Lorenzo are not going to even consider offers until they see just how far his World Cup campaign goes.
