Celtic hand professional contracts to eight academy prospects | OneFootball

Celtic have handed first professional contracts to eight of the club’s brightest academy talents as they continue to invest in the next generation of homegrown players.

The Scottish champions confirmed in a statement that Jacob Cameron, Lennon Watt, Warren Lyall, Cayden Anderson, Shay Forrester, Mark Harris, Jake Clements and Rhys Brownlie have all signed three-year deals ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The agreements represent an important step in the youngsters’ progression, with each player now looking to continue their development within the club’s academy system and push towards first-team involvement in the years ahead.

Celtic have consistently promoted players from their youth ranks into the senior squad, with academy products James Forrest, Kieran Tierney and club captain Callum McGregor among the most notable success stories to emerge from the club’s development pathway.

Forrest remains the most decorated player in Celtic’s history, while McGregor has also amassed an impressive collection of domestic honours during his time in the first team.

More recently, prospects including Colby Donovan, Sean McArdle and Jude Bonnar have all been given opportunities at senior level.
