Roma’s transfer window is entering a period of uncertainty.
Although the arrivals of Robinio Vaz and Donyell Malen have already reshaped the attack, Frederic Massara is not abandoning Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutchman, who missed Manchester United’s training session today, is pushing for a return to Italy.
In this context, as reported by the Irish newspaper Independent.ie, Celtic are showing strong interest in Evan Ferguson.
The Glasgow club is closely monitoring the situation of the young Brighton-owned striker, currently on loan at Trigoria.
Celtic would like to secure Ferguson as early as this January transfer window, banking on Roma’s need to free up a slot to make room for Zirkzee.
However, Artem Dovbyk’s injury—which will keep the Ukrainian out of action for a long time—requires caution: losing the Irishman today would mean numerically reducing Gian Piero Gasperini’s options.
Ferguson, however, isn’t the only exit under consideration: Leon Bailey and Kostas Tsimikas also remain on the list of possible departures to streamline the squad and reduce wages.
