Celtic have been name-checked in a French report for midfielder Mory Gbane…

The club are fresh off the back of signing Camilo Duran, who joined up with Martin O’Neill and his new teammates in Portugal, ahead of his £5.5 million move being rubber-stamped.

It doesn’t look like Martin O’Neill is anywhere close to being finished though, as his tone changed markedly after our 1-1 draw with Shelbourne over in Dublin this week, claiming that we definitely need bodies into the football club and not before time.

That was a completely different approach to when he was first appointed and worryingly claimed we only need a couple of players to help the current group.

Now that he has cleared that up, the manager confessed to needing multiple positions all over the park, including goalkeeper, where he has been liked with moves consistently for UD Las Palmas’ Dinko Horkas and Hertha Berlin’s Tjark Ernst, both of whom would cost anywhere in the region of between €5-7 million, should the club decide to move for either man.

Meanwhile, another report has surfaced from France today, stating that the Bhoys are interested in Reims midfielder Mory Gbane. Foot Mercato states that the Hoops and West Ham United are interested in the Ivorian defensive-midfielder and that they along with Turkish outift Trabzonspor are watching the very closely.

Midfield is definitely an area that needs refreshed and upgrading as Reo Hatate looks all set to depart at some point in the near future, whilst Arne Engels and Benjamin Nygren have been heavily touted with moves to England.

Likewise, Paulo Bernardo has rarely been spotted under Martin O’Neill, which highly suggests he has no future at the club, whilst Callum McGregor needs more legs around about him.

Judging by the report from Foot Mercato and Mory Gbane’s profile, he could be viewed by Martin O’Neill as that man to come in and shore up that central midfield area, adding some much needed power and athleticism which has sorely been missing for a significant period of time now.
