Celtic set to beat Schalke for Mika Baur signing | OneFootball

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are edging closer to signing Mika Baur from SC Padeborn. Sky Sports reported the midfielder is keen on the move as personal terms wouldn’t be an issue due to his agent Christian Nerlinger having an excellent relationship with Celtic.

Schalke were also interested in signing the 22-year-old, but Celtic are working on completing the deal with immediate effect. The traditional club beat Hearts to win yet another championship on the last day of the 2025/26 season.

Similarly, Baur ended the season positively as Padeborn won promotion back to Bundesliga after beating Wolfsburg in the relegation/promotion playoff. Baur was ever-present in their successful campaign after spending the previous season on loan at Dynamo Dresden.
