Sandman has already supplied us with his wonderfully original Definitive and graphically enhanced review of the season with individual ratings for the players and manager. Here, we’ll add to that by looking at some relevant Celtic stats as we get set to do it all over again in season 2025/26…

Celtic in Scottish Premiership, Champions again in season 2024/25

Champions: Secured the 55th Scottish title (13th Premiership in 14 seasons), clinching the title on 26 April 2025 with a 5–0 win over Dundee United.

Record: Over the 38 matches in the campaign Celtic won draw five and lost four, ending the season with 92 points, comfortably winning the title by a margin of 17 points. Brendan Rodgers’ side scored an impressive 112 goals and conceded just 26 times in their latest title winning campaign. (avg 2.95 GF, 0.68 GA per game)

Home/Away: 16 home wins, 13 away wins; 21 clean sheets in Premiership .

Streaks: Two 7‑game winning streaks; longest unbeaten run – 18 games (Aug–Dec)

Defensive strength: Fewest goals conceded (26) and most clean sheets league-wide (21).

Attendance: Average: 58,800 fans per league game at Celtic Park, although this figure accounts for number of tickets sold (including season tickets) and not the number actually at the stadium on match days. This is relevant as Celtic supporters are still waiting on the club to introduce a Ticket Exchange Scheme to allow season ticket-holders unable to attend a particular match to sell-on their ticket to another supporter. Celtic have a closed waiting list of over 10,000 for supporters waiting to purchase a season ticket.

Mixed fortunes in penalty shoot-outs at Domestic Cup finals

Premier Sports League Cup Final : Winners on 15 December 2024, defeating Rangers 3–3 (5–4 on pens); Daizen Maeda scored the decisive penalty; attendance 49,420.

Scottish Cup Final: Reached final against Aberdeen; aiming for domestic treble but a Kasper Schmeichel error allowed Aberdeen to grab an unlikely equaliser before Daizen Maeda missed a wonder chance to win the cup late in the game. Aberdeen held on and won the cup in the penalty shoot-out after the 30 minutes of extra-time was played.

UEFA Champions League a great adventure ends in Munich heartache

Group stage qualification to reach the playoff round : Celtic qualified through revamped group format; reached knockout playoff but were narrowly eliminated by Bayern Munich 3–2 on aggregate.

Celtic Stats in the Champions League: 15 goals scored (1.5 per game), 17 conceded (1.7 per game), three clean sheets, 41 saves, 87% passing accuracy, 49.5% possession,, source uefa.com. Highlights of the campaign was the 3-1 home win over RB Leipzig and a goalless draw away at Atalanta. Top performers were Japanese forward Daizen Maeda who scored four goals and German winger Nicolas Kuhn who scored three times, all against German sides!

Daizen Maeda: 33 goals (16 Premiership, 7 Scottish Cup, 6 League Cup, 4 UCL)
Nicolas Kühn: 21 total (13 Premiership, 5 League Cup, 3 UCL).
Adam Idah: 20 goals (13 Premiership, others across cups).
Kyogo Furuhashi: 12 before leaving mid-season to join French side Rennes in a £10m transfer.

Goalkeeping – Celtic’s in safe hands

Kasper Schmeichel: 24 clean sheets across competitions (19 Premiership); made 41 saves in UCL and signed contract extension taking him through to summer 2026. Meanwhile Viljami Sinisalo: 4 clean sheets when the Finland international got his chance when Celtic’s Great Dane suffered a shoulder injury in Lisbon on international duty in the spring.

Dominance: Maintained over 90% win rate in league; conceded just 0.3 goals per game domestically in season 2024/25.
Possession play: Large volume of passes, pressing style under Rodgers; Champions League metrics reflect this.

Summary of Celtic’s 2024/25 Season

Celtic delivered a dominant domestic campaign, rounding off a quad of league titles and securing the Premier Sports League Cup, beating theRangers in the final at Hampden. Their defence and attacking output built on Rodgers’ evolving style in his second season back at the club. In Europe, progress in the UEFA Champions League showed genuine improvement despite falling short in Munich. With key players shining and club finances robust, Celtic enters 2025–26 poised to challenge for a domestic treble and further continental strides.
