Valencia’s 0-2 win at the Sánchez Pizjuán restored calm and optimism for the run-in, with César Tárrega’s return a major positive. According to Superdeporte, LaLiga now pauses until the first weekend of April.

The break, aligned with friendlies for the 2026 World Cup, gives Carlos Corberán’s side two weeks to work before hosting Celta Vigo on matchday 30.

The three points leave the relegation zone seven points away and, for the first time this season, Europe within reach, if seventh and eighth are confirmed as European places. The win also delivered encouraging individual notes.

Back in the XI after two games out while Eray Cömert and Unai Núñez had edged ahead, Tárrega was forceful, solid and fully committed. He ranked among the top five performers in the 0-2 in Nervión, rated 7.4.

Without Thierry Correia’s injury at right-back, and with Renzo Saravia yet to earn full trust, Tárrega might have remained on the bench. Instead he formed a reliable pairing with Núñez, as Stole Dimitrievski kept a clean sheet.

Knee trouble has shaped his campaign and coincided with a reduced role while Cömert re-emerged with Switzerland. Until late 2025 he was among Corberán’s most used players, but his status shifted from January.

In 2026 he has completed 90 minutes only against Elche, Levante and Sevilla, yielding seven points from nine and a single goal conceded. After a full lay-off he alternated the bench, brief cameos and absences, and the break offers him time to sharpen as a Spain under-21 international.
