Ligue 1 outfit Marseille are looking at Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile as they look to sign a new centre back this summer according to reports.
Badaishile joined Chelsea from French side AS Monaco in January 2023 in a deal worth €37m and made a great impression in his first six months at Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately a long term injury towards the end of the 2022/2023 campaign set him back and he’s struggled to regain that early form and a regular place in the side.
There’s set to be a reshuffle at the back this summer, with Chelsea in the market for a new centre back, whilst the likes of Renato Veiga and Axel Disasi are set to leave the club.
Mamadou Sarr has arrived from Strasbourg, and there are now question marks surrounding the future of Badiashile.

The 24-year-old made just five Premier League appearances last season, although fared better in the Conference League
Badiashile, who has been linked with Inter Milan is behind Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo in the pecking order, and it appears regular minutes at Chelsea could be hard to come by next season.
However, Badiashile could be offered a return to France, and L’Equipe have reported Marseille have the Frenchman among their list of centre backs they’re looking at.
Badiashile is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2030, but it appears his time in west London could be nearing an end if he wants regular football.
The Blues also need cover for Marc Cucurella and the Spain international is currently the only left back in the squad.
Chelsea will have a major problem if the Spaniard gets injured, and Ajax star Jorrel Hato has been identified as a possible target.

The 19-year-old is a left back who can also play centre back, and Hato has made over 100 appearances for Ajax and is a Dutch international.
Chelsea are believed to have held initial conversations over a move for Hato, but he’s attracting a lot of interest from other clubs.
