The decision comes with the exciting news that Charlotte and her partner are expecting their first child later this year.
Across two separate spells with the Magpies, the defender made a total of 91 appearances, scoring 18 goals, and cemented herself as a fans' favourite in that time.
Charlotte played a key role in the side that secured back-to-back promotions all the way to the Barclays Women's League 2 in her second spell with her childhood club.
Injuries across the last 18 months have seen her time on the pitch limited with her last appearance coming against Southampton at St. James' Park in November 2024, but she has continued to play an important role around the group off the pitch.
Everyone at the club thanks Charlotte for her contribution to the club, and wishes and her family the very best for the future.
Charlotte said: "The past couple of seasons have been a whirlwind and it's disappointing that I haven't been able to perform consistently for the fans at the level I believe I should be playing at.
"I'm happy with what I've achieved at Newcastle, and in my career, so it's a bit bittersweet. Whenever I played for Newcastle, it always felt like home. I found my football family here, and when we achieved those back-to-back promotions, it was just the best feeling ever.
"I'm really grateful for the club and how much they have helped me. The club really helped me to get back on my feet.
"I'm going to take on another rollercoaster now with motherhood. I've always had a close bond with my mam, so it is just going to create a special bond now with the next generation."
Tanya Oxtoby, Newcastle United Women Manager, said: "Pottsy has played a massive part in the journey of this club, getting us to where we are now, and that impact will never be forgotten.
"It is clear to see just how much she is loved by the fans, and to create that bond is very special. In the short time I have worked with her, the passion, determination and pride that she has shown for the club epitomises her as a person.
"We are all excited for her and her family as she begins the next chapter of her life and becoming a mother, and we wish them all the very best."
Grace Williams, Director of Women's Football, said: "Charlotte's contribution to Newcastle United Women will never be forgotten.
"She is a respected figure by both players and staff and despite her injury challenges in the last couple of seasons, she has shown up every day with the same passion and determination.
"As she now embarks on this new journey, we would like to wish her all the best and look forward to welcoming her back to our games in the future."
