Charlton Athletic sign Perth Glory defender Johnston | OneFootball

Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Perth Glory defender Grace Johnston.

The Addicks confirmed news of the transfer via a post on their official club website yesterday.

The 21-year-old defender has signed a two-year deal with the South Londoners with the option of an additional year.

Johnston joined Perth Glory from the Football West National Training Centre in 2023 and she spent a couple of years with the club before featuring for Preston Lions and Keilor Park. The player returned to Glory for the 2025/2026 season.

On the international stage, Johnston has represented Australia at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level.

After joining Charlton Athletic, Johnston said “I am excited to be here and excited to get started. I am so excited, if you speak to anyone, it has been my dream to play in England. I am excited to play with and against the best players in the world.

“It has been a really good three years, I have been progressing each year which has been really good for my development, and it will be really good to play in some cold weather this time round.”

Johnston is Charlton Athletic’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
