In a recent report, talkSPORT stated that Chelsea are in talks to recruit Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho this summer. It has been claimed that the Blues are keeping a keen eye on the Argentine speedster as they look to bolster their attack in this transfer window.

Garnacho’s Impressive Record In English Football Last Season

Garnacho caught the eye with his performances as a key member of Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s attack in the previous campaign. The Argentine talent played in 58 matches for the Red Devils last season, scoring 11 times and earning ten assists in the process across various competitions.

The 21-year-old managed to shine at times in the final third as he averaged 3.44 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He kept 34.5% of his attempts on target. Garnacho was tidy with his ball distribution after making 78.9% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Mancunian club will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, Chelsea have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Garnacho this off-season.

What Will Garnacho Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca’s Side?

Garnacho can use his quickness and dribbling ability to lose his marker out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball well from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Argentine talent is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or as a centre-forward if asked to do so by his manager. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the West London club.

We can expect him to add more firepower to Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca’s frontline. Garnacho has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge next season.

At 21, the Argentina international has got the ceiling to be a world-class winger someday. Therefore, Maresca would be wise to get a deal over the line for him before the end of this summer transfer period.
