In a recent report, Brazilian journalist Pedro Reinert revealed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Cruzeiro youngster Felipe Morais. It has been mentioned that the Blues are monitoring the development for the Brazilian attacker ahead of a potential move for him this summer.
Morais has come through the youth ranks of Cruzeiro but is yet to make an appearance for their senior team. The 17-year-old has found the back of the net three times and earned one assist in 37 matches for the Brazilian club’s Under-20 side thus far in multiple competitions.
The Brazilian talent is currently among the best young playmakers in his homeland. Thus, it is no surprise that the Blues are showing interest in recruiting him.
His current deal at Cruzeiro will run out in 2029, which could make it difficult for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Morais is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can engineer the odd chance for others around him in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The Brazilian whizkid mainly operates in the number ten position but can also serve as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager. However, he is still quite raw and would need to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board this off-season.
We can expect Morais to enhance the quality of Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence in the long run. However, at the moment, he is not ready to play for the West London club’s senior team. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing a player of his potential.
At 17, Morais has got the ceiling to be a world-class player in his position someday. He is undoubtedly a star in the making, so the Blues should focus on going all out to bring him to Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer period.
