The Blues face Manchester City in the final at Wembley next Saturday as they seek to avoid a season without silverware.

Calum McFarlane’s side qualified for the final by beating Leeds 1-0 in the semi-final a fortnight ago.

They have since lost 3-1 to Nottingham Forest to all but end their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, before drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Wingers Neto and Garnacho missed both games after picking up knocks in training last Sunday.

However, there is optimism that both could return for the FA Cup final, which would boost the wide options available to the interim head coach.

McFarlane was asked after the Liverpool draw whether Neto and Garnacho could be available against City.

“Yeah, we are very hopeful,” he said. “You have to take these things day by day. We're hoping that they'll be available, but we don't know at this moment in time.

“They're going to get back into training. We’ll see how they feel, see how it looks. So, fingers crossed.”

Chelsea’s draw at Anfield ended a run of six consecutive defeats in the Premier League, one short of the club-record seven set in the 1950s.

McFarlane, relieved the losing streak was over, said: “This club needs to win games of football, and we haven't done that today.

“We're not happy with the form and some of the recent performances. Yeah, it's nice to have a good, complete performance.

“It would have been better with a win, but when you come to these places, it's really difficult. So, yeah, it's positive.”
