Chelsea confirm signing of young defender as striker departs | OneFootball

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Italy international Honest Ahanor from Atalanta, with the defender set to officially join the Blues in 2027.

The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season with Atalanta following his move from Genoa in July 2025.

Ahanor made 35 appearances for the Serie A side during the campaign, with his performances at club level earning him his first two senior caps for Italy in June.

The Blues have also confirmed the departure of Marc Guiu, who has completed a permanent transfer to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

The Spain Under-21 international joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2024 and went on to make 29 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.

Guiu played a key role in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League triumph, scoring six goals in six appearances during the competition.

He was also part of the Chelsea squad that lifted the FIFA Club World Cup last year.

The 20-year-old will now begin the next chapter of his career in Germany after bringing his two-year spell at Stamford Bridge to an end.
